awForum v7.5.1 . . . in Angelworld Forum Group

Just a bunch of fixing, if you care

Adding auto-expand feature for compose areas: when you type a long paragraph, the textarea automatically expands vertically downwards allowing you to see more texts, instead of showing a scroll bar. Right now only the forum compose box (excluding nested replies), status page and guestbook use this feature, and will be expanded to other compose boxes later.
Fixed unresponsive unread hover box upon refreshing list
Updated Google Ad box (non-member entry)
Updated new menu bar for awWings function
Auto-highlight when one tries to add link in a post
Fixed status comment inconsistency in showing total numbers
Fixed status comment page to be open fully when showing one specific status item
Added music button in status (you can click it when you have currently-listening information, to add your music info to your status)
Added options to reset and ignore changes in menu customization page

That's it. I am also working on a newer layout for playlist page.

9 . . . in Movies and Shows

Has anyone seen this little short animation by Tim Burton? Yes, it is quite some time ago but I just rent to movie and watched it, and it wasn't as good as I expected. However, the CG is very well done, so as the designs and styles in the film.

Do you like this kind of animation?
Foggy Days in HK . . . in Any-kind Gossip

These days the weather in Hong Kong was not very good, and starting from last week, the whole city was covered up by a heavy layer of fog. The whole imagery was like the whole city was on fire.

I looked out from the window and I couldn't really see anything except the building right in front of me. So foggy...

%attachment_1%

The fog finally went away today and I can see the clouds and blue colors in the sky. The fog looks cool but it is not really in reality because the weather was so humid and everything was wet. You couldn't even sleep well at night because of the high humidity, which was nearly 95%.

Have you experienced such fogginess in your place?

Tokyo 東京 : harajuku, ginza, shibuya, ropongi etc. . . . in Languages and Culture

As some of you guys know, I went to Tokyo for my uni. trip last week for 5 days (not enough!)
we went to many of the main places in tokyo by catching the train and subway lines, they are so complicated~ managed to get used to it after 2 days.. so no biggy~ as long you know what the kanji looks like even though you cant read them like me lol

we stayed at the Omori Tokyu Inn http://www.tokyuhotelsjapan.com/en/TI/TI_OMORI/index.html I recommend this hotel, I'll be staying there again :] - v.quiet, good location + v.convenient, v.close to the train station (literally when you walk out of the hotel entrance its there) and major department store.

there were about 25 or more of us so we ended up splitting into groups of 3 or 4. we were given an itinerary, which had the activities to follow for each day.

anyways here are some pics. we went to Ginza on the 1st day we arrived. I'll post more daily when I have time~ :]

I've become a fan of Sakura flavoured products in Starbucks!
Ive tried almost all of their Sakura products including the steamed bun and macaron!
I never had it before so it was my first time to try it and I love it~ (I miss it already!)
Sakura Frap. is love :3 I've been having it almost everyday, the Sakura steam drink is also v.nice! its limited so do try it when you have the chance! http://en.gigazine.net/index.php?/news/comments/20100215_starbucks_sakura/
Alien vs. Predator . . . in Gaming Group

This new game is about the be released. A SEGA game developed by Rebellion, this AVP actually revives the whole series, which in the past years are a bit disappointing due to the boring plot and so-so graphic standard. Now it is completely different. Check the recently released gameplay video and then the two trailers, this thriller FPS is going to be more fun and more...scary.

This game will be available on all platforms including and . I can't wait!

New Side Menu! . . . in Angelworld Forum Group

As many of you already noticed, the left side menu has been revamped and simplified. I hope you like it

%attachment_1%

This is what you should be seeing. This menu contains three global functions (ISM, status and guestbook marked by a bullet) and other subsite links of different colors. As you can see, those features belonging to one subsite will also have that color, like the orange for subscription.

Sometimes if you have new messages or unread threads, you will see a red badge with item numbers. Clicking on them will open up the hover boxes. This does not apply with the Guestbook button which will open up your guestbook directly.

And you can customize them!

%attachment_2%

In your Oxygen page (or at the bottommost button of this new menu), you can see this new panel for your side menu customization. You can drag the items in the order you like, and disable items that you want to hide.

There will be more items later probably but for now this should be working fine. Only the forum and blog sites use this new menu now. If you have any problem, please note me back! Thanks!

Apple announced iPad . . . in Computers and Technology

Apple released their new product yesterday to kick off the new year. iPad is announced finally, putting a stop (finally) to all the rumours.

:quote: Apple www.apple.com/ipad

The best way to experience the web, email, photos, and video. Hands down.

Imagine being able to page through websites, write an email, flick through photos, or watch a movie. All on a big, beautiful, Multi-Touch screen. With just the touch of a finger. :quoteend:

It is more like an enlarged iPod Touch or iPhone (without phone functions), and runs on iPhone OS (3.2 beta for the current) with Apple's own chip called A4. It has a screen of 9.7" and a weight of 1.5 pounds. Having all the wireless functions, it can surf the net and watches videos from YouTube without problem.

And even more, this device is only US$499.

For me, I don't think I need it but I may buy it for my parents, who just need a device to surf the net without much computer knowledge. Telling my mom to click here and there is like teaching her to do the impossible task, and so this device is very good for her I believe. Perfect gift for Mother's Day For me, I think I will stay with my own Macbook Air, which runs Mac OS X and can do much more as it is really a computer.

How about you? Tempted?

poker for kids? . . . in Gaming Group

I've been searching info about poker for kids... different opinions found.
Some posts say "its for fun, to win some icecream or M&Ms pack"... other say: the kid could learn how admin the money.
other say: first thing is teach and read some rules and strategies...
others: "it can be a social party reunion..."
this is my opinion:

My niece with 8 yers old is interested to be included in our poker sessions with “chips” for fun, no money or prizes . sometimes we play with money. sometimes we have “private sessions” with friends with more money to bet. I imagine - I think poker is not bad or wrong for a kid to start playing it. that’s a process: for a kid must be for fun, even Bingo is played for fun and for money! then poker could be played for fun too BUT in the process the kid could learn strategy, obtain skills counting or making calculations and so administration of chips and so… how react when your chips are less or more so in the process the kid could learn a lot of things including chips – money – behaviors administration . (I imagine.. it was my opinion just).

I mean: first to learn the basic play, 2: to make the calculations in the mind.. 3 - learn how to admin chips - numbers - points.... and so in a future the money. 3: learn behaviors wining, losing, when or how's.

some opinion about it?

(considering some or games ... poker is the best choice )
